Relative and Absolute Pitch angle measurement

Higher yield with reduced loads

Identify and fix aerodynamic rotor imbalances.

Blade angle differences are the number one cause of aerodynamically excited imbalances. From an angle difference of 0.5° the tower shows a swinging behaviour characteristic of an unbalanced oscillation.

The tower vibration is a good indicator for the level of imbalance.

Absolute blade angles

As an additional service we offer in addition to the ROMEG measurement on the determination of the absolute pitch.

The prerequisite for this is the availability of the foils.

The graph shows the deviation of the measured actual profile from the desired profile.

In this example, the angle difference is 1.6 °.

tower clearance

The information about the tower clearance of the blade tips is a revealing indicator of the evaluation of the sheet behavior in different load conditions. In addition to the aerodynamic influences also the rigidities of the individual blades are displayed in these measurements.

Usually, in this measurement, the behavior of the system is displayed on several days with different wind situations.

Graph shows the tower clearance of 3 blades over 100 rotations.

Measurement results will be provided as an excel sheet.
